'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' day one patch available after game launch

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is finally here, and with the game's launch also comes a day one patch. According to the patch notes gathered by wccftech.com, there is a variety of changes to be made in the game.

General fixes include adding support for DLCs, getting rid of multiple stability glitches, and improvements in the overall game performance. Of note is the addition of expansion support, which means that instead of releasing a new title, the developer for "Witcher 3" will instead provide expansion packs first to expand the game and add new quests and missions.

Enhancements inside the game were also added. Aside from generally improving the quest interface, design and interactions would also be changed. There is a variety of modifications to the interface such as dialogues, scene triggers, quest mapping, and journal objectives.

In addition, gameplay will also be optimized such as improvement in the monsters and NPC intelligence, spawn strategies, and specific area interactions such as providing balance during combat and AI improvements.

The new patch needs 482 MB for a full download for PlayStation 4 users. However, there is also a second new patch, update 1.02, that players can download at 487 MB.

Meanwhile, The Xbox One patch comes in at 588 MB. Exclusive to the patch is the support for dynamic resolution scaling. With this feature, the game will run with an alternating resolution between 900p and 1080p depending on the game's conditions. This is an exclusive for Xbox players, as it is noted that PS4 consistently runs the game at a native 1080p.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" went live worldwide on May 19 at 1 a.m. CET for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
