With the pressure mounting up to publish the newest book in the "Song of Ice and Fire" series, George R.R. Martin proves that he is making "Winds of Winter" just as exhilarating as the previous books. As if the season 4 finale didn't leave "Game of Thrones" fans with so many questions, there's still more to know about what lies ahead for the book and TV series.
Martin had a talk with Entertainment Weekly and shared bits of information on what "Winds of Winter" will be. In hindsight, he described the book to have more twists. Going into specifics, "We have more deaths, and we have more betrayals. We have more marriages," says Martin. And we all know that the most horrific thing among those three are the marriages, sigh.
How will "Winds of Winter" begin? "I think we're gonna start out with a big smash with the two enormous battles," answers Martin. We can speculate that one of these battles is that of Ramsay vs Stannis' army. And the other is probably the Yunkai attacking Meereen to overthrow Daenerys. Moreover, Martin did confirm that the Dothraki's will be back "in a big way."
"Winds of Winter" will feature tons of things happening at The Wall. But what a lot of "GOT" fans are interested in is how will Tyrion and Daenerys interaction with each other (previous spoilers said that Tyrion will cross paths or seek Dany).
"Well, Tyrion and Dany will intersect, in a way, but for much of the book they're still apart." Martin says. "They both have quite large roles to play here. Tyrion has decided that he actually would like to live, for one thing, which he wasn't entirely sure of during the last book, and he's now working toward that end—if he can survive the battle that's breaking out all around him. And Dany has embraced her heritage as a Targaryen and embraced the Targaryen words. So they're both coming home."
How exactly are they coming home? Well, that remains to be seen and we all know that coming home parties should be spectacular, right?
Winter is definitely coming, but there is still no official release date for "Winds of Winter."
