Gamers who regularly check news would have already heard of "Way of the Woods" back in 2015. From mere screenshots and features on Reddit and Tumblr, Australian solo developer Anthony Tan has finally released a teaser for his year's worth of work in the game.

The minute-long teaser showed two deer, presumably a doe and her fawn, trying to make their way back home in a post-apocalyptic, or rather, post-human world. The setting resembles human areas that have been deserted with the animals being the only ones left in this world. Of course, these animals will either be a friend or a foe to this pair of deer.

"There's still a lot of the game to make," said Tan talking to Polygon. "I had to take a lot of time to explore the world I wanted to express, the type of tone and gameplay I could execute properly." For a solo developer, many praise for the good job he has done so far. That world which he made even looks quite a bit like popular Ghibli movie "Spirited Away."

The deer, at least according to the teaser, will have to go through different areas and it seems that there is some supernatural force guiding them. That seems quite obvious given the glowing hooves of the doe too. A scene even talks about the pair going through a "cat town, ruled by a cat god."

Back in 2015, gamers only saw photos of a young teenage boy developing a game which is now the "Way of the Woods." He recently just got a publishing deal as well to get his game out to the public and for his game to be fully developed as well.

"Way of the Woods" is set to be out by early 2019, as mentioned in the teaser. Tan expects it to be playable on the PC and maybe consoles but more information on the whole game itself should be out within the year.
