HBO has been keeping its fists tight when it comes to "True Detective" season 2 spoilers. Last week, fans had no idea what they were about to see in the previous episode titled "Down Will Come," with the network deciding to forgo sharing a synopsis for the installment.
While this isn't the case for the upcoming episode titled "Other Lives," the information provided by the network is just too little to work on. Judging by the terrors that happened in the last installment, Ani, Ray and Paul should be reeling away from the devastating shootout that killed a lot of police officers.
The next "True Detective" season 2 episode only tells that "Ray and Frank contemplate new life choices" and that "Ani and Paul follow a lead up the coast." Carter Matt's idea for the former is that the two will question their connection and how it impacts those around them.
Last week's episode saw Frank persuade Ray into making a career switch, imploring him to ditch his cop life for a thrilling life as someone who works for the former crime lord. Though it looks like Ray needed more convincing (he showed almost no interest at all), he may end up hopping on board judging from his bit on the short synopsis.
In the trailer, Ray was shown dealing with a family matter. The detective attended a hearing with his ex-wife that may ultimately get his son away from him. The previous "True Detective" season 2 episode proved how much important his kid is to him.
While the two contemplate on their lives and how they can change it with each other in them, Ani and Paul has some more investigating to do, which hopefully, brings them closer to the mystery of Ben Caspere's death. Even then, the whole picture is yet to be fully revealed.
"True Detective" season 2 episode 5 "Other Lives" will air on HBO July 19. Alternatively, it can be watched online through live stream with HBO GO.
