'Tom Clancy's The Division' DLC, updates: Ubisoft removes unlimited damage exploit

 Ubisoft

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is the newest shooter from developer and publisher Ubisoft. The continuous updates that Ubisoft rolls out are meant to tweak and improve the game, and some of the features address glitches that incessantly pop out. The latest patch that Ubisoft rolled out reportedly addresses the "unlimited damage" bug.

The update seems to be a major one, as the developer posted that the new patch requires the servers to go down. It addresses the "unlimited damage" glitch, where "The Division" players can allegedly deal significant amount of damage by rapidly switching weapons, starting with a gun having the Competent talent. The weapons being used have significant boosts in their damage output. In a video posted by a player, the glitch is only tested on AI enemies but will also have significant results in the Dark Zone, the player versus player are for "The Division."

This prompted Ubisoft to immediately work on a hotfix and roll out an update. According to CNET, the hotfix update is already the second one in just a matter of days that deals with different glitches in "The Division." Prior to the "unlimited damage" glitch patch, the developer also rolled out a hotfix update that tweaked the new "Falcon Lost" Incursion content.

Meanwhile, although Ubisoft continues to address glitches and bugs with updates, the developer also seems to be considering expanding content. Attack of the Fanboy reported that Ubisoft recently sent out a survey to players. Reportedly, the survey is asking for feedback on the game. Pointed responses like "area-based PvP" and "open world PvP," as well as "new bosses" versus "new areas of New York" content are included in the survey. Meanwhile, there is also an area in the survey that asks player feedback on what they want to be included in a future expansion.
