As "The X-Files" season 11 approaches its release, FOX is now teasing its fans by dropping the latest teaser, revealing what is about to come. The clip also shows behind-the-scenes interviews with its main stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, along with the series' creator Chris Carter.

In the video, Anderson and Duchovny talk about the previous season's final episode and tease what fans can expect from the new season. "Last season ended looked like the end of the world," the 57-year-old actor said.

From season 10's events, Carter reveals that "The X-Files" season 11 will be answering questions from the past. "I think we have a really interesting, dramatic solution," he said. From here, scenes turn from one sequence to another that hint at how intense the science fiction drama will be.

The trailer also brings fans down memory lane of the classic monster of the week chapters. Dana Scully (Anderson) will be seen in action as the Lone Gunmen are now back. The Cigarette-Smoking Man (William B. Davis) also returns and it looks like he has something sinister planned.

In season 11, Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Scully return, along with Mitch Pileggi as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner. Also, fans will once again see Karin Konoval, who originally played Mrs. Peacock in the second episode of the series' fourth season titled "Home."

A new face will also be added to the roster with Barbara Hershey as Erika Price. Other stars that will also be seen are William B. Davis, Annabeth Gish, Lauren Ambrose, Robbie Amell, Veronica Cartwright, Chris Owens, and Dean Haglund.

In "The X-Files" season 11, fans will see 10 intense episodes, much longer than the previous season's six-episode arc. It will all feature mythological stories, while eight of it will be standalone cases.

"The X-Files" season 11 will air on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
