'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt': A beginner's guide

Due to the vast open areas ready to be explored and the intricacy of the story, players are scouring the Web for tips and tricks to master the newly-released "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." However, even the most hardcore players of the series find the newest title challenging.

For casual players and newbies, they would need all the help they can get to maximize the excitement and challenge that "The Witcher 3" brings.

Stay off the "Blood and Broken Bones" difficulty first

First time players need to stick first to the normal difficulty setting if they want to test out the game and build their confidence. According to most hardcore "The Witcher" fans, the third instalment is very hard even when played under the normal setting. "Blood and Bones" is reserved for those who have already mastered the series or the most hardcore of RPG players. If casual gamers and first-time players will play under the hardest of modes, they would become frustrated as their character will die every few minutes, and will not enjoy the game at all.

Analyze enemies

Most newbies, or those who have played RPGS similar to "Bloodborne," are expected to build their inventory by attacking as many enemies as possible in the least amount of time. However, the combat system in "The Witcher 3" is different, with the AI always evolving and enemies analysing Geralt when in combat.

New players can instead take time and analyze the enemy first, checking out patterns and knowing when to counter, parry, or in case of hard-to-kill monsters, try to evade and escape.

Side Quests are important

Most RPGs are replete with side quests to buff content; not so with "The Witcher 3." The side quests in the title are also important for players to build their inventories. Side missions give out items and loot that will make Geralt a much more powerful and versatile fighter, and sometimes, rare gears can even be found in the most unlikely of places.

In addition, the main plot and side quest stories are interconnected, and Geralt's actions in missions will have a say in the story and will affect the entire plot of the game.
