'The Witcher' 3 release date: New trailer launched at E3

If there is one game that really brought the house down in the recently concluded E3, no doubt it's "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt." It took home more than 100 awards, with "Best in Show" as one of them.

Senior Designer Peter Gelencser of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" told IBT that he wants to change how people see RPG games. He also shared to IBT how video games in his childhood inspired him to make one-of-a-kind video games of today.

"Currently, my favorite game is 'Mario Kart 8. All the good experiences I had with those games really come through when creating new content with the game ['The Witcher 3']. The phenomenon, the experience of discovery and stumbling upon things, I get to create something and test it, play it, and if I get the same feeling from revealing a large part of a dungeon, or seeing a large city, I can compare the feeling of that to the same feeling I had as a kid. In a way, all those old games were a great inspiration," shared Gelencser.

"The Witcher 3" is a story about witcher Geralt of Rivia. He is a magic summoner and hunts monsters. One of his inspirations in making the game is "Secret of Mana" from way back in 1993. He didn't share too much detail about the upcoming game, but describes it as having "beautiful, picturesque environment."

Gelencser further describes the graphics, saying "Every single angle is postcard quality. We worked so hard, all the proportions, all the things you see, there's a little gap missing from that curb, let's put birds, there, it makes the whole picture complete. It's beautiful. It's really worth it to explore." With these new changes, he hopes that "The Witcher 3" becomes a game changer in the world of RPG games.

He goes on to say that "We're trying to prove a lot of things, to introduce new things. We play a lot of attention to classical values, but of course, we move with the times and focus on a lot of things that are necessary. The classic RPG bit is well-maintained. There's very strong story-telling. We never abandoned that. This is your adventure, with a very rich and unique story, there is a massive emphasis on this and we transfer that into every aspect of the game."

What's new in the third installment of the game? There's monster hunting and it will be one of the character's main quest. The game will take more or less 100 hours to complete.

The trailer for "The Witcher 3: Witch Hunt" was launched at E3. The release date is confirmed and it will come to PC,PS4 and Xbox One on Feb. 24, 2015.
