'The Sims 4' DLC updates: 'City Living' expansion pack rolls out on Nov. 1

The Sims 4 - City Living Expansion Pack will arrive on November 1. EA/The Sims

"The Sims 4" will have another DLC release soon, as the "City Living" expansion pack is confirmed for release on Nov. 1.

In the announcement posted on the official website, the new expansion is described as outside living "set in the rich, diverse city of San Myshuno, a beautiful coastal city tucked up against the nearby mountains." Additional experiences and in-game items are already expected, as hinted in the announcement which reads, "Whether you're playing basketball in the Spice District or meeting with friends after work at the Karaoke Bar for a raucous good time, there are new experiences around every corner."

The new "City Living" expansion pack also places the Sims into full-time city living. Rather than spending just moments in the new suburb — like in previous DLCs such as "Dine Out" — the Sims will have to build another home from scratch, as the upcoming expansion also includes apartments. As with real-world counterparts, there are few choices for in-game amenities in apartments than there are in previous "The Sims 4" homes. However, the new apartments are expected to include price-ranged dwellings based on their sizes, since the new DLC has been revealed to include a top-most penthouse suite among apartment choices. This means that more in-game amenities will get unlocked, depending on the apartment size.

Aside from new homes, the "City Living" expansion pack will also expand on Sims careers, as new vocations like Social Media, Politician, and Critic will become available. It is unclear what careers from previous "The Sims 4" DLCs will get carried over to the new expansion.

The "The Sims 4: City Living" expansion pack will go live on Nov. 1 for the PC and Mac. The launch also serves as a global release of the DLC. However, one requirement for the new DLC is for the game itself to have all updates and patches already integrated into "The Sims 4" copy.
