"The Originals" season 5 will be "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off series' swan song, which explains why its cast members are regularly sharing on-set photos on their social media pages. The stars are gradually saying their good-byes and giving their thank yous to the people behind the show, and of course, to their fans.

Claire Holt (Rebekah) has been sharing her photos along with "The Originals" season 5 cast members. Her recent snap is seen on Instagram Stories with Daniel Gillies (Elijah), Riley Voelkel (Freya), Christina Moses (Keelin), and Danielle Rose Russell (Hope). Also, it has pictures of Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol) and Charles Michael Davis (Marcel).

Meanwhile, Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) shared that "It was a very emotional goodbye" in an interview with W magazine. The 28-year-old star revealed that she was already finished filming her scenes over the weekend.

"I don't think I've totally digested it," she added. She even admitted that being part of "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off series has been a great opportunity for her and she is very grateful for the last five years for playing the role of Hayley.

Aside from the good-byes, it has been confirmed that Leah Pipes will return in "The Originals" season 5 as Cami. She is one of the original stars of the show, and Hope's former guardian.

To recall, she was killed in the third season's midseason finale and returned in the previous chapter's premiere episode as part of Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) imagination. In "The Originals" season 5, she will be seen in the final episode, although it is not yet revealed how she will make her return. According to reports, "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off series' swan song is now filming its final episode in Conyers, Georgia.

The CW has yet to reveal the release date of "The Originals" season 5, but it is expected to be out in 2018.
