'The Originals' season 2 official trailer launched; Rebekah back? Major family problems?

"The Vampire Diaries" spinoff "The Originals" is a huge success. The order for season 2 happened instantly as the show's popularity easily hit the roofs. And now, season 2 is already underway.

At the San Diego Comic-Con, CW's "The Originals" released the first new trailer for its second season. While the previous previews for season 1 were all about action, this one's more focused on the story and plot for the upcoming season.

The trailer starts with Claire Holt's character Rebekah. She left New Orleans mid-season and is now caring for Hayley's daughter with Klaus. They are still presumed to be under a cloaking spell that should protect them from any harm. Then we can see Hayley still adjusting to being a hybrid, practically slaughtering everyone who comes her way.

After that, Klaus and Elijah are seen preparing for major family drama as their parents will be returning. If you've been watching "The Vampire Diaries," you'd know that Klaus' dad hates him. And with the Mikaelson parents return, it will surely stir trouble in New Orleans. In season 3, mommy and daddy Mikaelson will be the major villains. And major spoiler, daddy has the white oak stake and he is working with Divina the witch.

There is still no definite date for the release of "The Originals" season 2, but Cinema Blend has a hunch that it will be around the fall. Cinema Blend explains that the season 1 Blu-Ray and DVD will be out on September 2. And if the Blu-Ray version is released, this means that the new season will premiere a month after. To add, "The Originals" pilot season debuted in October last year. As for the timeslot, the CW announced that it will move to Monday nights.
