"The Good Wife" season 5 will premiere tonight on CBS at 9 p.m. ET.

The premiere episode will be available to view online on via live stream on the CBS website. Be sure to play back all the episodes from previous seasons to catch up before the new series kick off.

"The Good Wife" season 5 episode 1 is titled "Everything is Ending." CBS' official synopsis is as follows: "Alicia works to prevent the execution of a convicted murderer as she plans her exit from the firm with Cary; Eli helps Peter put together his staff."

Season 4 ended with Alicia leaving the firm to create a new one with Carey, meaning she will betray Will, her mentor.

Julianna Margulies (Alicia) recently told the Huffington Post: "I mean, there are moments where people are going to hate my character and think she's just awful and then literally the next scene, you're going to understand why she did what she did and hate Will's character and then it will flip."

Tonight's season premiere will see Carey and Alicia's plan for a new firm being delayed while Grace adjusts to Peter becoming the governor of Illinois.
