The remastered "Skyrim: Special Edition" is now launched with all the improvements and new features over the original "The Elder Scrolls" franchise sequel released back in 2011.

Launched as a staggered release, "Skyrim: Special Edition" is now live for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is already confirmed that the remastered version will not only come out with tweaks on its graphics and design but that it will include improvements to the gameplay. Changes in the new re-release include a new difficulty level, hardcore fan tweaks like removing health generation from the game, and shuffling areas by expanding villages.

Meanwhile, one noted improvement for "Skyrim: Special Edition" is its mods feature. Bethesda has opted to put full support for the gameplay feature, as it unlocks mods for all platforms of the game. This means that aside from PC players, console fans can also check out the different mods in the game.

Game director Todd Howard said to The Telegraph: "As far as coming back to Skyrim, the mods were a big part of it. Particularly on the PC, it still gets up into the top 10 Steam games and I think that's because of mods. So that was one of the reasons we really wanted to have modding for Skyrim on the consoles. And I think the modding really builds into 'you're going to make this world your own.'"

The feature is already a popular one with fans, as Gamespot reports that as much as 209 mods are already available. However, although the feature is supported on all platforms, the mods are limited for the Xbox One and PS4, as they only allow 5 and 1 GB of modded assets in-game. Meanwhile, PC players, aside from having full mod support, also gets to enjoy the new game for free if the players own the original game as well as the three DLC packs.
