In the next episode of "The Blacklist," Director Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) and his team go after an international terrorist who is an expert with bombs.
The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Ilyas Surkov" was just released recently and showed the team back at headquarters discussing how they should take down the elusive bomber. It appears that the terrorist is able to level cities with his attacks and poses a potential threat to the U.S. Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) asks her father Raymond Reddington (James Spader) for a lead in their investigation. As a notorious criminal with countless high-profile connections, Reddington replies, "I'll do what I can." Apparently, the reason why Keen is very urgent with this case is because someone close to her is also in danger.
Keen and Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) appear going after the bomber with their pistols in hand. Other agents are also at the scene. However, a bomb explodes as Ressler and the other agents are thrown back by the blast. Someone dies in the blast as a stretcher appears with him or her in a body bag. Agent Keen looks on with sorrow and disbelief. It remains to be seen who dies in the blast and if it is someone from the team.
In the last episode, Director Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) and the team went after the noted Blacklister Nirah Ahmad (Poorna Jagannathan), who kidnapped subjects that had the same rare blood type of her son. Keen and Reddington were able to locate the secret clinic where Ahmad was and saved the victims from getting operated on by her nefarious surgeon.
Apparently, she was planning to give her son a heart transplant by using the organ of her captive. Fortunately, the team arrived just in time.
"The Blacklist" season 5 episode 5 will air on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
