'The Big Bang Theory' season 8 spoilers: Sheldon to leave for good? Emily may still be around

Finally, the release date for "The Big Bang Theory" has been announced and it's coming to your TV screens on September 22. There will be two episodes that will air back-to-back.

However, there are very little spoilers going around for "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 but there are a couple of sure things that you will see this new season. Well, there's Sheldon and him leaving or not.

Everyone is asking whether Sheldon will leave. According to TV Line, Jim Parsons said: "I never thought of that, but you're right — he could show back up at home immediately, couldn't he?" He also said that he grilled his bosses about where his alter ego will go, but no one told him, "I don't know if they know yet. They may know, but I really don't know if they do."

Parsons also shared about his feelings of anxiety when meeting Amy once again. "I don't know that we're headed for the bedroom or the altar any time soon. But, whatever... The writers have been so good with the pace of it, just bring more is all I would say."

In more news about Sheldon, executive producer Steve Molaro told Entertainment Weekly that his goal is to "chip away at Sheldon and break him down to the point where he just needed to leave to process everything."

There will also be surprises for Penny. Penny is headed to the altar with Leonard, which makes it the perfect time to introduce Penny's mom. Kaley Cuoco thinks that Lisa Kudrow is the best person to play her mom. Further, Cuoco is sporting a new pixie haircut, a look that she hopes the producers will like so she doesn't have to change it. She likes that new look on her character Penny.

Meanwhile, Molaro also said that Emily might still be in season 8. So she may be around.
