A new reports claim that Leah Messer lost primary custody of her twin daughters to ex, Corey Simms. According to a source from In Touch magazine, Simms "was awarded primary custody, effective immediately," on Oct. 13.
The source added that Leah only gets Ali and Aleeah, 5, on the weekends now. While Leah has not confirmed the report, the reality star took to Twitter on Saturday, Oct. 17 to share an update about what she and her daughters have been doing.
"There's nothing like actually having actual QUALITY time with my girls, for once. We aren't running around to apts but INSTEAD we are having a fun filled weekend together I. ENJOYING each other as a family," she wrote. "At the end of the day that's what matters most!"
In Touch reports that Corey first fought for custody last year after reports claimed that Leah was addicted to prescription drugs. The insider added that the judge looked at the twins' school records, which revealed that they had been often late for school, and made the change in custody.
Meanwhile, Leah's other ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert, is reportedly thinking about following Corey's lead and may now seek custody of their two-year old daughter, Addie. Another insider told the magazine that if Jeremy can find a job nearby, he'll "go for the same custody arrangement that Corey did."
Dr. Drew Pinsky, an addiction specialist who moderates the "Teen Mom 2" reunion shows, recently gave his take on the situation in a backstage interview at "The Rachael Ray Show". While he did not confirm the reports, Pinsky said that he was "expecting progress" from Leah and that during the last time they saw each other at the last reunion show, he believed that she was getting better.
"She is working very hard and this has been a terrible time for her," he said. "So let's all wish her the best."
