In the next episode of "Star Trek: Discovery," the crew gets stuck in a dangerous time loop which repeats itself after every 30 minutes.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" was released just recently and showed Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp) warning Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), "Listen, the ship is in danger. We have been caught in a 30-minute time loop and every second you doubt me brings us all closer to death." All of a sudden, the interior hallways of the spaceship burst into flames. It seems that the crew will repeat the same sequence unless they are able to break from the chain.

Meanwhile, an unwanted passenger makes his way on board the Discovery with a horrific creature in tow. He paralyzes the crew in the docking area with his stun gun. Burnham is stuck there and needs to escape. It turns out that the nefarious person is Harry Mudd (Rainn Wilson) and seems to be the cause of the time aberration. It remains to be seen if the crew will be able to break free from the time loop and if Mudd has something to do with it.

In the last episode, Burnham went on a mission to save her Vulcan father Sarek (James Frain) who got injured when an extremist blew himself up on his transport ship. Burnham had to connect with Sarek mentally in order to wake him up and sound the distress signal. While in his mind, she was able to discover his secrets and forgave him for his wrongdoing against her. Sarek eventually woke up and notified the rescue ship of his location. He and Burnham were reunited on the Discovery.

"Star Trek: Discovery" season 1 episode 7 will hit the airwaves on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on CBS All Access.
