"Star Trek: Discovery" is on its first season hiatus, but CBS already revealed four new poster arts in preparation for the show's second chapter. Here, the network gives a glimpse to the characters of Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), Lieutenant Saru (Doug Jones), Captain Gabriel Lorca (Jason Isaacs), and the returning Klingon separatist Voq (Javid Iqbal).
In the posters, they are all standing from behind and have the same tagline, "Discover the Unknown." From the looks of it, Voq is the only one who is promoting the continuation of the series' chapter 2 with his return.
To recall, the Klingon "Torchbearer" has been gone since "Star Trek: Discovery" season 1 episode 4. So with his assumed return, the popular fan-made theory about him might come to life.
There are assumptions that Voq is actually Ash Tyler (Shazad Latif) in disguise. As some fans are wondering where the lieutenant went after his major role in the first nine episodes, he might be once again seen as the heir to T'Kuvma.
In an interview with Games Radar, "Star Trek: Discovery" season 1 cast members remained mum about Tyler's whereabouts. However, the publication notes that there are clues that prove he might be Voq in disguise.
These include some gadgets that can change someone's biological life signs, as well as the Klingon nightmares he is having and Voq's disappearance that coincided with Tyler's unexplainable arrival in a Klingon jail cell.
Another hint that this theory could be true is The Mirror Universe. "Star Trek: Discovery's" latest poster arts feature the four characters' darker reflections. So, fans may look at them within The Mirror Universe, especially after what happened in the midseason finale.
"Star Trek: Discovery" season 1 episode 10, titled "Despite Yourself," will return on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, on CBS. It can be watched also on CBS All-Access in the U.S. and on Netflix in the U.K. and Australia.
