Video footage released today from inside an elevator at the Standard Hotel shows Solange Knowles attacking her brother-in-law, Jay-Z, on Monday, May 5.

The surveillance video shows singer-songwriter Solange beating the rapper with her hands and wildly kicking him while her sister, Beyoncé, watches the attack. Jay-Z does not strike back, but blocks Solange's blows with defensive moves.

The fight occurred after the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala last Monday. The gala's after party took place in the Standard Hotel's Boom Boom Room on the 18th floor.

In the video, superstar singer Beyoncé is already in the hotel elevator, and Solange, Jay-Z, and a bodyguard enter closely behind. Before the elevator's doors can close, Solange, 27, gets in the "Show Me What You Got" rapper's face, and appears to be yelling at him. As soon as the doors close, she unleashes a physical attack, pulling Jay-Z's clothes, and hitting him repeatedly.

As the bodyguard pulls her away from her brother-in-law, she kicks him with her stiletto-heeled feet. Solange is held in the corner of the elevator briefly before she lunges toward Jay-Z again, swinging and kicking while in the grasp of the security guard. Beyoncé, who stands against the back of the elevator during the melee, carefully moves the train of her Givenchy dress out of harm's way while her sister attacks her husband.

Solange can barely be contained by the bodyguard, who presses the elevator's emergency stop on the 12th floor.

Dozens of photos show the family leaving the Standard Hotel after the fight. A visibly upset Solange walked out first, followed by a sweating bodyguard. Beyoncé, 32, walks behind her sister, smiling for the many photographers outside.

Jay-Z, 44, appears bewildered as he exits the venue. Pictures show him holding the side of his face and adjusting his clothing as he walks toward a waiting vehicle. He is stopped by the bodyguard when he tries to enter the same vehicle that Solange is in, and is directed to a black SUV instead. Beyoncé gets in the same car as her sister.

None of the involved parties have released a statement regarding the attack.
