"Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear," the expansion for 2014 "Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition," developed and published by Beamdog, is set to release for iOS and Android on March 8 as a 30-hour standalone adventure.
Beamdog published a Tweet on March 5 with the caption: "Siege of Dragonspear is charging towards Google Play and the App Store! Siege of Dragonspear comes to mobile March 8th as a 30-hour standalone adventure! More news at http://Siegeofdragonspear.com soon! #DnD #Baldursgate #RPG."
Kotaku reported that Beamdog Studio Director Phillip Daigle confirmed in a live stream that updates in the user interface as well as in the quality of life from the game studio's recent game "Planescape: Torment Enhance Edition" have been adopted in the mobile version of "Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear." Moreover, Kotaku pointed out that Daigle said that there have been some modifications and changes made in some of the quests in the game. Daigle also said that the enhancements for the upcoming mobile version of the game will also be arriving in the desktop version upon the release of the Infinity Engine 2.5 sometime in the future.
As reported by Android Police, "Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear" fills the gap between "Baldur's Gate" and its sequel, "Baldur's Gate II." The expansion will take off after the death of Saverok. Peace has yet to come to Baldur's Gate as a crusade led by a warrior known as the Shining Lady will march from the north, forcing locals into military service, seizing supplies and disrupting trade. Players must decide whose interest they should truly serve before they face the Shining Lady among the Dragonspear Castle ruins.
There is still no news regarding the possible price of the expansion pack. The 2014 "Baldur's Gate": Enhanced Edition" mobile version retails at $9.99.
