The fans of "Scandal" were left heartbroken when season 4 episode 19 showed Olivia Pope's (Kerri Washington) former lover Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) getting killed by her new man. As it turns out, Franklin Russell (Brian White) is her father Rowan's (Joe Morton) hit man.

In the trailer for this week's episode titled "First Lady Sings the Blues," Rowan bluntly tells Olivia a very important lesson: "Against me, you will never win!"

And Papa Pope seems to be ready to eliminate all those who are tracking the members of the B613, and no one can stop him from reaching his goals, even his own daughter.

The official synopsis for episode 20 says:

The team taking down B613 is in serious danger and forced to take drastic measures to ensure their safety. In the White House, Mellie is mortified when the nation turns against her and Cyrus is forced to come to her defense."

A fan posted a still image from Scandal Season 4 episode 21 showing that Jake is still alive. Twitter

Meanwhile, based on the leaked photos taken from episode 21 titled "A Few Good Women," Jake is alive but definitely not well. The photo was uploaded by a dedicated "Scandal" fan on Twitter, showing the obviously wounded Jake being attended by Olivia in an undisclosed location.

If this is true, then Foley's recent tweet that said, "So, there it is. Thank you Twitter for tonight and all of the Thursday nights. It's such an honor. #Scandal," might just be a trick for the fans of the show. So Olake shippers must rejoice since their favorite couple could still end up together in the near future.

But is Rowan done trying to kill those who are close to his estranged daughter?

"Scandal" season 4 only has three remaining episodes, and it seems like all the episodes will be as explosive as last week's. Can Olivia survive her father's attack on her and her loved ones?

Episode 20 "First Lady Sings the Blues" will air on Thursday, April 23. The season's penultimate episode "A Few Good Women" will air on April 30, while the season finale "You Can't Take Command" will air on May 7.
