The new Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0. According to rumors, Samsung will add another, smaller 7.0 version to the lineup Samsung website

While most eyes have been set on the upcoming launch of the new premium smartphone lineups of Samsung, namely the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note follow-ups, the South Korean tech manufacturer is also expanding its other lineups.

Reportedly, the South Korea-based tech giant still has plans to further expand the Galaxy Tab E lineup with a new version, this time a smaller one with a 7-inch display. When released, this new addition will join the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 and the original 9.6-inch Galaxy Tab E launched by Verizon late last year.

According to industry follower Roland Quandt, there will be two versions of the Galaxy Tab E device, a WiFi-only and a 4G-enabled one. The standard WiFi-only model is reportedly called SM-T280NZKA, with 8.0 GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the 4G-capable version is dubbed SM-T285, and will have the same flash storage. Both models will also come with a 1.3-GHz processor, 1.5 GB of RAM and a resolution of 1280 x 800.

SamMobile said that should the upcoming 7-inchof the Galaxy Tab E pick up some features from its predecessors, the new iteration should also come with almost the same internals and features like expandable storage and body color options.

The industry observer also mentioned that aside from the Galaxy tab E 7.0 iteration, Samsung is also thinking of releasing a Galaxy Tab E Lite, as well as a Kids version of the iteration. The Kids version will come with more robust security options as well as onboard parental controls.

Apparently though, aside from its own Kids version of the Galaxy Tab E Lite, Samsung will have its entire device lineups carry the same parental controls and security options via a Kids Mode firmware feature update.
