Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Edge release date rumors: Lineup coming early 2017, possibly with dual-lens camera, 4K display

While it may still be some time before the next Galaxy S series flagship launches, supposed specs of the new Galaxy S8 lineup have already been spotted online.

According to speculations, since Samsung is known to provide next-gen tech for its new flagship releases, the Galaxy S8 will offer much improved features and specs over the current-gen Galaxy S7 lineup. Reportedly, one of the most noted tweaks for the new iteration is the adoption of 4K display. This will be one of the new features for the lineup, and the Galaxy S8 will be the pioneer for 4K display for the South Korea-based company. Even the upcoming Galaxy Note 7, the other flagship lineup of Samsung, will allegedly use the Super AMOLED QHD display featured on the Galaxy S7.

Meanwhile, since the Galaxy S8 is expected to come out early next year, it is already predictable that the new iteration will feature the newest chipset, either a Snapdragon 830 or an Exynos processor. It is also possible that Samsung choose the same path it did for the Galaxy S7, and use both processors as different versions for the Galaxy S8. Currently, the Galaxy S7 lineup has both Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820 versions, depending on the region.

In addition to new display technology, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is already expected to pack a new, dual-lens camera setup. While the South Korea-based tech giant has yet to come out with the specs for its upcoming flagships, dual-lens cameras are already considered as specs features in other, newly-released flagships, so it seems likely that Samsung will also make this feature one of the improvements in the Galaxy S- lineup.

Meanwhile, prior to the release of the Galaxy S8, rumors say that Samsung will out another Galaxy S7 iteration, the rumored Galaxy S7 edge Plus. Samsung has yet to make it official, though the company has already done a Plus variant for the previous Galaxy S6 edge lineup.
