Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date, specs news: Handset to launch in August?

While most of the fans have set their eyes on the recently unveiled Galaxy S7 lineup by Samsung, others are checking around when the tech giant will release a follow-up to its other successful flagship lineup, the Galaxy Note series.

According to speculations, the Galaxy Note 6 is part of a one-two punch from the South Korea-based manufacturer for this year, and will be the next flagship focus in 2016.

The Galaxy Note 6 is expected to appear as early as August.

According to Value Walk, should Samsung follow through with its previous schedules for a Galaxy Note release, the Galaxy Note 6 will appear even before the IFA commences in September – meaning that the new flagship will appear by August. This is the same timeline that the current-gen Galaxy Note 5 appeared last year, launching together with the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

If Samsung will not deviate from this practice, the upcoming launch may also have fans see another iteration in the flagship lineup together with the Galaxy Note 6 – the Galaxy S7 Edge+ variant.

As for how the Galaxy Note 6 will be different from its predecessor, IB Times noted that observers may look at the recently launched Galaxy S7 lineup for clues. Outside of the rumored 6GB RAM version, the industry follower said that the Galaxy Note 6 will not be different from the Galaxy S7, at least in terms of the design. However, this is still unconfirmed, as Samsung may well be planning to change the design of the Galaxy Note 6, seeing as how negatively fans reacted to the similarities between the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6.

Meanwhile, the industry follower also listed the supposed internals of the Galaxy Note 6. Instead of the expected 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, it is said that the upcoming iteration will switch over to a 5.8-inch Slim RGB AMOLED display, with 2560 x 1440 resolution. It is also speculated that the Galaxy Note 6 will use the same camera assembly seen on the Galaxy S7, with an added Super OIS Plus feature integrated.
