The Apple iPhone 6 Plus continues to soar. For a first large-screen attempt by a company who has been releasing small-sized smartphones in the past, it is demonstrating very good performance in the market. Samsung, on the other hand, has the Galaxy Note 4 to boast. It is one of its hottest releases this year. Its premium specs gives it a whole new level of greatness, enough to give its Cupertino-based rival a run for the money. Apple lovers and Samsung enthusiasts have probably set their minds on which obvious handset to get. They can always switch sides still. But for those who are torn between the distinct features the two bring to the table, here is a face-off to help them get through.
The Samsung handset is coated in faux leather bordered with metal. Its body measures 8.5 mm. Unfortunately though, Apple takes it several steps further than Samsung when it comes to build. The iPhone 6 Plus' 7.1-mm body is caked with aluminum, which makes it look tasteful and elegant. The former boasts a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. This delivers a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution coupled with a 515 pixel density. The Apple smartphone has it this good but it noticeably fails to be on par with its competitor. The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Retina display screen that renders with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution and a 401 pixel density.
With iPhone 6 Plus' dual-core 1.4 GHz Apple A8 processor, the device is made high-speed and impressively powerful, even though it only packs a 1 GB RAM and storage capacity of 16, 64 and 128 GB. The Note 4 evens the score with its 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, which delivers smooth smartphone experience as well. In addition, it has 3 GB of RAM and a sole 32 GB variant that is expandable up to 128 GB with a memory card.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 doubles iPhone 6 Plus' shooters. The former has a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera paired with a 3.7-megapixel front snapper. The latter has an 8-megapixel primary shooter and a 1.2-megapixel FaceTime camera. As per GSM Arena, the Apple handset's 2910 mAh battery outlasts the Samsung device's 2910 mAh battery, 24 hours and 20 hours respectively. However, PC Advisor says that the Note 4 can last more than a whole day. To add to that, it can slide into Ultra Power Saving Mode to last longer. Lastly and more importantly, the Galaxy device has fast charging technology, allowing it to juice up completely in just an hour.
The Note 4 also has a heart rate sensor ready and split screen multitasking. It also has Google Wallet fired up while the iPhone 6 Plus has the new-fangled Apple Pay safe and secure to use with its Touch ID fingerprint sensor. According to GSM Arena, the Galaxy Note 4 and the iPhone 6 Plus fare at $750.
