It has been rumored that Samsung is developing another addition in its Galaxy A series. The rumor is now being supported by a recent sighting of the alleged specs of the Galaxy A9 Pro.
According to Sam Mobile, the upcoming handset is seen on the benchmarking website AnTuTu, where the general specs of the upcoming Galaxy A series addition is listed. Based on the listed specs, the new Galaxy A9 Pro will be the best in the mid-range lineup as it reportedly features above-average specs.
In the benchmark listing, the new Galaxy A9 Pro is stated to carry a Snapdragon 652 processor. While this may be a mid-range chipset, it is paired with a massive 4GB RAM, so users can expect an above-average speed and performance. In addition, the Galaxy A9 Pro is purported to carry 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD slot. Moreover, the upcoming iteration will have a 4,000 mAh battery, as well as a 16MP main camera on the rear.
Meanwhile, GSM Arena said that the selfie camera will also get a boost, since the Galaxy A9 Pro will reportedly feature an 8MP camera on the front compared to the 5MP one on the Galaxy A9.
For the display, the industry observer said that previous sightings reportedly confirmed a 5.5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution. However, the website says that the specs listed may not be the final set-up for the device, and the 5.5-inch display may still get bumped to 6 inches, hence the "Pro" moniker.
While Samsung has yet to officially announce the release of the Galaxy A9 Pro, some speculate that the new iteration will come out soon. Reportedly, one indication is the sighting of the device's specs on different benchmarking sites. A previous speculation claimed that Samsung was planning to out the new phone in between its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 6 announcements.
