Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 release date, specs, news: 16 MP front camera among the specs?

Samsung may be planning to shift to the same setup assembly for its camera features on its devices. Supposed leaks point out that the 2017 edition of one Galaxy A-series handset will come out with a 16-MP setup on both its main camera and selfie shooter.

According to The Android Soul, a supposed benchmark listing from website AnTuTu has made its way online via China-based social media site Weibo. The supposed document lists the upcoming specs and features of the 2017 edition of the Samsung Galaxy A7. Interestingly, one of the features for the iteration shows that the Galaxy A7 (2017) will launch with a 16-MP camera on its front panel, more likely the same setup as the main camera on its back.

Should this turn out to be true, it seems that the South Korea-based tech giant will be shifting this feature on its devices. The Galaxy A7 (2017) will be the second lineup that will feature the same camera setup on both its main and secondary setups. Just recently, Samsung has launched the Galaxy C9 Pro, featuring a 16-MP shooter as its main and secondary camera setups.

Meanwhile, aside from the camera listing, the supposed benchmark document also highlights some of the specs for the 2017 edition of the Samsung Galaxy A7. Supposed specs include a Samsung Exynos 7870 chipset, a full HD display, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow as its native platform. In addition, there may be 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage. While it is not mentioned, it is likely that the new edition will sport the same 5.5-inch screen from the current-gen Galaxy A7.

The 2017 Galaxy A7 will be one of the three iterations scheduled for release in the series. It has already been confirmed that aside from the follow-up, the series will also get the 2017 editions for the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5.
