Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to get Android 5.0 Lollipop in Denmark region

Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 is getting Android Lollipop after all.

Owners of the two-year old phablet welcomed the week with disappointment when Samsung Gulf's Facebook page revealed that the device will be stuck with Android 4.4.2 KitKat. But mere days after this, Samsung Denmark revealed via Twitter that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users will be able to update to Google's newest operating system. However, the subsidiary's news only covers those who live in the region.

An inquiring user tweeted to Samsung Denmark asking for confirmation about Samsung Gulf's claim that the Galaxy Note 2 will not be treated to a Lollipop makeover. The subsidiary explained that rollouts depend on the markets and that Denmark users will receive it. This simply means that some regions will not be able to upgrade their handsets to the new firmware while others will just have to wait for their turn. Unfortunately, it is still unclear which regions fall on the former category and which ones fall on the latter.

In answer to another inquiring user, Samsung revealed that both the Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100) and the Galaxy Note 2 4G (GT-N7105) will get the update. It is still unclear which one will get Android Lollipop first or if it will be done simultaneously.

Meanwhile, Samsung Spain has also confirmed that it is working on releasing the new operating system to the phablet. However, it did not give an assurance that it will actually be rolled out as the update will only be released if there will be no problems or issues.

On the other hand, Samsung Gulf's claim of Note 2's Lollipop-less future also dented Samsung Poland's word about the release of Android Lollipop to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. For now, there is no update about this but it looks like it should push through as well.
