In the next episode of "Riverdale," Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and the rest of the school kids from Southside transfer to Riverdale High.

The trailer for the upcoming installment, titled "The Blackboard Jungle," was just released recently and showed Principal Waldo Weatherbee (Peter Bryant) making an important announcement. "Effective immediately, Southside High will shut down," the principal tells the Riverdale students over the communication system.

Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), who is seated in the lounge, looks up in surprise at the announcement. Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton), on the other hand, is in the middle of a basketball game and stops in his tracks as he hears the unexpected news. Apparently, the Southside kids will transfer to Riverdale High where Cooper and the rest of the gang are. There has always been a rivalry between Riverdale and Southside, but since they will join together now, it remains to be seen if both sides will get along with each other.

"Welcome to your new school," Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) says to the incoming students at the Riverdale lobby. Apparently, some of the new kids are part of the gang called the Southside Serpents. They appear quite formidable with their black leather jackets which sport the snake insignia on the back. Nevertheless, Lodge does not look intimidated and greets them with a smile. Jones will now be able to hang out with his friends including Archie Andrews (K.J.Apa), Cooper, and Lodge.

In the last episode, the Black Hood was finally caught by the police with the help of Andrews and Cooper. The elusive culprit turned out to be the janitor from Southside High named Mr. Svenson (Cameron McDonald). He was chased at the bridge and was shot dead by the police. Cooper looked on with shock and relief.

"Riverdale" season 2 episode 10 will hit the airwaves on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
