Following leaks that cropped up last August, CapCom finally confirmed early this month that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is being prepped for release in early 2015 for PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. While no solid information was revealed during the Sony press conference in Japan, new details about the game has since surfaced.

PushStartPlay said that, rather than the characters Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, players will see the return of Claire Redfield (Chris's younger sister) as the main character, joined by the Moira Burton, (daughter of weapons specialist Barry Burton). According to the post, the events take place between Resident Evil 5 and 6, when the two protagonists awaken after having been adducted, finding themselves in n a detention facility in an abandoned island.

The survival-horror game can be played in single-player or co-op mode. When taking the role of Claire, players need to take a more combative approach, while the role of Moira lets them provide general assistance to Claire, such as supplying herbs and other items. Primarily, Moira will have to do everything to keep Claire alive, since the death of Claire ends the game.

On a (sort of) related note, the final installment in the film adaptation of the game won't be released in 2015 as previously planned. Milla Jovovich, who played the lead role Alice in all five earlier movies, announced in August that filming of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter would be delayed due to her unexpected pregnancy.

She said, "Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn't think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! Lol!"
