Celta Vigo will try to get over a battle-weary Real Madrid today, Saturday, when the two clubs face off at the Spanish La Liga in Balaidos starting at 3 p.m. BST or 10 a.m. EST.
Celta Vigo will continue its amazing run over a battle-scarred Real Madrid who has just come back from a tough trip. It will feature the match between two of the top clubs in Spain.
Celta Vigo has been humming, carrying a vastly improved style of play which has seen them score a total of 18 points in just eight matches, putting them in a tie with Real Madrid and Barcelona. Much of that is credited to the stellar play of Nolito, Fabian Orellana, and Iago Aspas who will be spearheading the cause of the team once more.
However, they will face Real Madrid with some players still out due to injury. That list includes their goalkeeper Rubén Blanco, center-back Andreu Fontàs, and midfielder Dejan Drazic.
For the team's goalkeeping chores, Sergio Álvarez will bank on his experience yet again to hold fort.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, faces another tough foe, and Rafa Benítez may have to come up with something to improve his team's performance. The team has given up just two goals from their last eight matches but the team hasn't been performing that well on the offensive end.
Like Celta Vigo, Real Madrid has injuries to key players as well. That list includes Dani Carvajal, Pepe, Karim Benzema, and James Rodriguez. Another player, Gareth Bale, could play but it will be a game-time call of Benítez.
Seeing the potential of Celta Vigo and Real Madrid on both ends, this should be an interesting matchup. Both are missing key elements in their respective rosters, so it could eventually come down the wire with both teams practically even-steven.
Both teams will take the Balaidos field today, Oct. 24, starting at 3 p.m. BST or 10 a.m. EST. The game may be viewed live stream here.
