"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ("PUBG") gamers will no longer have to play with unknown players since a slew of new features have been added in-game with the recent update and focuses on the social aspect of the online battle royale game.

These said features are some of the most demanded by the community ever since the game was first introduced, but the biggest update of them all is having the capability to do emotes. These are in-game gestures that players can make their characters perform in order to nonverbally communicate with other players or just have fun with others.

At the moment, there are only 12 emotes available with the latest 9-gigabyte (GB) update that included all the features. Starting now, players will be able to perform the said emotes with their characters by pressing the keyboard key "~" and selecting one from the list of emotes. Now players with no microphones for in-game voice chat will be able to communicate with other players, albeit impractically when compared with the good old mic.

In addition to the player emotes, there should now also be a friend list that will help players find their own added friends in-game to check if they are online or not. Previously, there was a functional friend list in-game but this only displayed the player's Steam friends and their Steam names, which may be different than their in-game names. With the addition of the game's own friend list, teaming up and looking for new friends in should now be much easier than before.

The catch is that each player can only have up to 50 in-game friends in "PUBG," and it functions similarly to Twitter in which adding a friend does not necessarily mean they will also add you in their friend list. Still, it should serve its purpose in-game, which is to make squad play easier.

In the future, the developers plan to add more emotes and make improvements to the friend list, players are also advised to update their game versions soon in order to enjoy the said features.
