PlayStation Plus October 2014 free games list: Three free games for PS4 include 'Driveclub'

It's nearing the end of September, which means PlayStation owners will once again get a new set of games for free for the month of October. While the complete list will likely be unveiled on Oct. 1 or 2, there's already news about one game that will be coming out.

PS3 and PS4 owners are anxiously waiting for the new free games coming up next month. But before the free games list is revealed, there's good news for PS4 owners to enjoy. In October, there won't be two games offered, there will be three free games! There will be an extra fere game for all PS4 owners.

And one of these free games that will be offered for the PS4 platform is "DriveClub." It is an open-world racing game that Sony described as the bonus game for the month for PS Plus members.

Fred Dutton of Sony told the European PlayStation blog, "Driveclub will be in addition to you regular PS Plus allocation. There's loads of content included. Do try it out – I think you'll have a great time with it, and at no additional cost to your wallet."

"DriveClub" won't be free for non-members, but it will be likely offered for free at launch day for the PS Plus members. This is what Sony did for August and September, so this could be a trend now for the free game list.

Dutton's statement confirmed it, "DriveClub" will be included in the October 2014 game list for PS4. As for the other games, Sony wants to keep it a surprise, at least until October 1. There's also no news on PS3 games as well as for PS Vita. But it's still a week away from October so there could still be news about the upcoming free games, so game enthusiasts just need to stay tuned.
