'Penny Dreadful' season 2: Will Vanessa be possessed?

Now that the first season of "Penny Dreadful" has hit Blu-ray, this means that everyone should be ready for Season 2. Showtime is making sure that every fan gets the juiciest details until Season 2 is released next year.

And what better way to entice fans than release the first teaser trailer for Season 2. And just as expected, the trailer shows tons of blood and occult chaos. But there is one thing that stands out in the trailer, and it's Vanessa's necklace.

After the voice over, blood forms into a red scorpion similar to what Vanessa has as a pendant. This is what starts the speculations that a demon from Vanessa's past will come back to haunt her. Not only will the demon haunt her, it will possess her, too.

Cinema Blend pointed out that this could be a mythological element in the season's storyline. In mythology, a goddess named Gaia wanted to kill Orion because he threatened to kill everyone, so she sent a scorpion to do it.

However, Fashion & Style reports that while Vanessa is possessed and attacking her friends, she might manage to heal and recover by herself, as well as beat the demon out of her. Could this even be possible?

"Penny Dreadful" season 2 surely does look very exciting. It is still currently filming its 10-episode season in Dublin, Ireland. The cast and crew are getting ready for its launch in 2015.

"Penny Dreadful" is undoubtedly a very successful TV show. In Season 1, it had 4.8 million weekly viewers on different platforms. And with the exciting new plot for season 2, "PN" might just even turn out better when it comes to viewership and ratings.

The show is created by John Logan, a screenwriter and playwright. It is produced by Logan himself and Sam Mendes. Actors Josh Hartnett, Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, Simon Russell Beale, and Helen McCrory are reprising their roles. New faces will join them, too, including Sarah Green, Douglas Hodge, and Jonny Beauchamp.
