Hollywood's newest "It" girl and "Orange is the New Black" star, Ruby Rose, recently sparked outrage when she posted an Instagram photo with boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Rose was reported to have showed up at Mayweather's training for his upcoming boxing fight against opponent Andre Berto. TMZ sources added that the 29-year-old Australian model-DJ-actress was a huge Mayweather fan. In fact, Rose was also trained in boxing and competed in a 2012 charity match. She is also a goddaughter of Lionel Rose, an Australian boxing champ.

Rose then uploaded their photo together to Instagram with caption: "the champ!"

However, the photo received a lot of backlash both in Instagram and Twitter.

One Instagrammer commented on the photo: "I'm disgusted you'd express love for Mayweather and fan girl for a man who brutalizes women! I removed u from my girl crush list."

Another wrote: "He's the lowest of the low. A pro fighter who takes his job home is no champ! He's a sad pathetic excuse of a man."

One fan also said, ""I'm disgusted you'd express love for Mayweather and fan girl for a man who brutalizes women! I removed u from my girl crush list."

One user added, "Just learned that Ruby Rose supports Mayweather,, idk how I feel about this"

A twitter user also commented: "Floyd Mayweather? A complete douche who beats every woman he dates? Disappointed [sic]."

A fan showed her disappointment by posting: "@RubyRose Floyd Mayweather? A complete douche who's beats every woman he dates? Disappointed.

Even though the Ruby Rose-Floyd Mayweather picture received a lot of negative comments, it still garnered 310,000 likes on Instagram.

Floyd Mayweather has been charged with domestic battery several times since 2002. He has been convicted and was sentenced in 2011 with 90 days in prison after pleading guilty to domestic violence and misdemeanor battery.
