OnePlus 5T specs rumors: Leaked teaser image, company listing confirms big design change

OnePlus is tipped to close the year with the release of OnePlus 5T. While its exact launch date is still unclear, patrons already know what to expect from the revamped version of last year's flagship, thanks to the consistent leaks lately. The most recent one shows another render of the supposed handset, bolstering rumors that the company is following Samsung and Apple's footsteps in their pursuit of bezel-less, full-screen displays.

Android Authority reported a teaser image of what is believed to be the OnePlus 5T. It does not show off the entirety of the handset, but it clearly depicts what has been predicted in the past. It sports a new design with thinner bezels, taller display, and a higher screen-to-body ratio, ditching the capacitive buttons in front altogether.

Although the image does not specify the external specifications, it has been widely claimed that the upgraded model could measure six inches with an 18:9 format and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels or 1080p.

If the render is accurate, the OnePlus 5T is sticking to a flat display as opposed to the Samsung Galaxy S8 series' curved ones. It does not seem to have a front-facing fingerprint sensor, likely due to the overhauled design. However, it is wrapped with an aluminum frame and places the bottom-firing speaker on the left side just like its predecessor.

Prior to this report, the OnePlus 5T has allegedly been spotted in what seems to be a leaked product listing on the company website. The screenshots give a better look at the phone itself, which, according to some people, looks like a modified version of the Oppo R11s. Its tagline reads: "Bigger screen. Same footprint."

The upcoming smartphone has no specific launch date for now. Previous reports claimed it would be unveiled on Nov. 5, but OnePlus confirmed to GSMArena that these dates are fake.
