OnePlus 3T release date, specs, news: 8 GB RAM among the specs?

It is expected that OnePlus will come out with a refreshed version of its current-gen flagship. Speculations suggest that the anticipated OnePlus 3T will be one of the most powerful releases this year as rumors point out a variant with 8 GB of RAM.

According to rumors, the upcoming OnePlus 3T will include much-improved specs and features over its predecessor. One of the "almost confirmed" specs is a Snapdragon 821 chipset. This is the likely choice for the step-up version as the current-gen OnePlus 3 sports a Snapdragon 820 chipset. However, it is said that the new SD 821 variant will be paired with 8 GB of RAM. While OnePlus has yet to comment on the rumors, there are some who believe it is highly possible. The China-based tech maker is known to come out with "flagship killer" lineups, and an SD 821/8-GB RAM combo will definitely come out on top even against notable flagships like the iPhone 7 or the Galaxy S7 series.

While the 8-GB RAM may seem overkill, observers say that this dovetails with other rumored specs and features for the device. The OnePlus 3T is rumored to come out with Android Nougat 7.0 on board, with ready support for Google Daydream VR.

Meanwhile, it is also said that with the increase in performance, the OnePlus 3T will also offer an improved battery, at least in the 3,000-4,000 mAh range. The current OnePlus 3 offers 3,000 mAh, and it is expected that its refresh will come out with a higher usage life.

While the OnePlus 3T is supposed to be a refresh variant, the tech maker is also likely to include some similar specs from its base version as well, like the same 5.5-inch optic AMOLED display with full HD resolution.

It is said that the OnePlus 3T is the one the company is teasing fans about, slated for a Nov. 15 launch.
