Google has already released the developer preview of its upcoming platform, Android N, which means that the release of the full version is fast approaching. Speculations suggest that the new Android environment's full version will be showcased with a returning product from Google – a refreshed Nexus 7.

According to Yibada, the new Nexus 7 will be the showcase product for the full version of Android N and may be revealed as early as May. While Google has yet to confirm this rumor, some fans believe that both Android N and the new Nexus 7 will be showcased at this year's annual Google I/O Developers' Conference.

The Google I/O Developer's Conference is to be held on May 18 to 20.

In addition, it is said that Google plans to overhaul the Nexus 7 tablet in order to truly showcase the improvements and features of Android N. Reportedly, the tech giant has tapped Huawei to assemble the Nexus 7 2016. According to speculations, Huawei will have their own take on the Nexus tablet and will pattern the design, specs, and features from Google's Pixel C series.

Meanwhile, since the Android environment is for both tablets and smartphones, it is also speculated that a full version of Android N will also be showcased on at least two new flagship phones under the Nexus lineup. Allegedly, the new Nexus smartphones will be made by HTC.

Although Google has yet to confirm these speculations, having two flagships released simultaneously is not that uncommon. Last year, Google unveiled the Nexus 5X and 6P.

HTC may be looking to do the same this year, and that is why fans may be looking at at least two new Nexus phones coming out. The lineup may be just like last year's, with one version having above-average specs and the second iteration being a premium flagship with top-tier specs.
