Apparently, HTC is setting its gaze towards a brighter vision for consumers, as the company has announced that its Vive Virtual Reality (VR) Pro headset will be getting premium versions.

HTC is also looking to push the limits of VR technology since it will now be offering a wireless version of the Vive Pro VR headset. On top of that, there will also be a high-resolution Pro model, which is sure to push the limits of any graphics processing unit (GPU) to date. One thing to note is that for those who have already ordered a wired version, there is a wireless adaptor for the VR headset, meaning they will not have to purchase the model again.

This will be called the Vive Wireless Adaptor and will provide a better movement range for the owners since it will no longer be attached. Those who worry that going wireless may introduce some connection issues need not fret too much as the Wireless Adaptor has been advertised to reduce the latency for the VR headset since it uses WiGig technology that runs on a 60 gigahertz (GHz) band.

Rest assured, the Wireless Adaptor will almost be necessary to fully enjoy the VR headset without any limits, it and can also be used on the Pro model of the Vive VR. The said Pro version will have a pixel count of nearly 80 percent higher than the core model, making the resolution 1,440 x 1,600 per panel (2,880 x 1,600 combined), which is quite a step up from the default 1,080 x 1,200 (2,160 x 1,200 together) of the standard model.

This also means that the Pro model will also require a more powerful GPU and other components of a PC. Despite not being as graphically pleasing as gaming on a standard monitor, the higher resolutions of the Vive Pro VR should close the gap in graphics.

At this point though, there is no launch window yet for the Vive Pro VR. Some expectations go as far ahead as 2019, but in the meantime, the Wireless Adaptor is expected to launch sometime during the third quarter of 2018.
