Man of Steel 2 movie update: Zack Snyder leaks photo of Ben Affleck as Batman

"Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder leaked two photos in two days from his upcoming film "Batman vs. Superman."

On Tuesday, Snyder tweeted a photo of actor Ben Affleck in his full Batman costume, standing next to the Batmobile.

Affleck is unrecognizable in the picture, wearing the Bat's signature cowl, cape, and chiseled suit. Snyder's version of Batman is cloaked completely in black, including his utility belt, and does not appear to be wearing the scalloped gloves seen in the last Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises."

The Batmobile has also undergone a redesign, and is sleeker than the "Tumbler" vehicle used in the 2012 release.

Snyder tweeted a photo of the back of a car, partially obscured by a tarp, on Monday. "Could be time to pull the tarp...Tomorrow?" he wrote in the caption.

"Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the upcoming film, and "Fast & Furious" actress Gal Gadot has been tapped to play Wonder Woman. "The Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luther.

In a December interview, Affleck said that he is happy to work with Snyder in such in incredible role.

"From what I've seen of what's Zack is doing, it's made me very excited," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"One of the nice things about being an actor in that movie is they show you all the stuff before anyone else gets to see it. So all the sort of world-creation, and the take on the character and the other characters is really exciting.

"And at the end of the day, the truth is it's really directors that make movies work or not... And if it all has integrity, if it all has a sense of realism, then it works."

After several pushbacks, Warner Bros. gave "Batman vs. Superman" a release date of May 6, 2016. A third film, "Justice League," is expected to follow.
