'NCIS: LA' season 8 spoilers: No baby for Kensi and Deeks yet; Non-traditional engagement happening first

Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) in "NCIS: LA" CBS

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 will see Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) take on some of the biggest challenges they have ever met throughout their relationship.

During the show's panel at the San Diego Comic Con or SDCC, Ruah and Olsen themselves teased what things to expect relating to their beloved characters in "NCIS: LA" season 8.

Ruah is currently pregnant with her second child. Olsen revealed that this real-life experience for his co-star will be a "catalyst for changing the storyline— and it's for the best."

That being said, there won't be a baby on the way for Kensi and Deeks. Ruah's pregnancy will not be written in on the show, but the star imagines it would be a "big character arc" for Kensi.

The actress stated that this will put Kensi in the face of a manifold of obstacles. Olsen described these inevitable obstacles as "perspective-altering."

Although a baby is still a long way off for the two, Kensi and Deeks will hit another big milestone in "NCIS: LA" season 8, which is engagement, but this will be nothing typical.

Olsen warned during the interview with TV Line that this engagement is "not in the traditional sense of the word." He did not elaborate more on this.

But he did say that "NCIS: LA" season 8 could possibly be "the craziest season for these two characters" that the actor and Ruah have ever done.

In the previous season of the hit series, Kensi and Deeks took a big step in their relationship by moving in together. It certainly was something new to both of them, but it allowed the pair to get to know each other better.

Challenges were inevitable with this big move, but as suggested by the actors themselves, this won't stop Deeks from popping the question in "NCIS: LA" season 8.

"NCIS: LA" season 8 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
