Emotions are still high from the previous episode of "Nashville" season 4, but it does not mean that it will start dying down soon.

In episode 4 titled "The Slender Threads," Juliette's (Hayden Penettiere) downward spiral continues while Scarlett's (Clare Bowen) grief brings back an old friend.

According to the official synopsis, "A reporter shadows Juliette, who has another setback and copes by turning to pills and alcohol. Meanwhile, Rayna (Connie Britton) struggles to please a demanding rock star; Layla and Jeff have a fight; and Zoey (Chaley Rose) returns to check in on Scarlett."

The previous episode showed Juliette's non-stop partying with Luke (Will Chase), which pushed her husband Avery (Jonathan Jackson) to file for divorce and petition for full custody of their daughter Cadence. But in the end, Avery's love for the troubled country singer prevailed and stopped signing the divorce papers. Yet it did nothing to stop Juliette from her constant partying and drinking.

For the upcoming episode, Juliette seems to be getting worse. Jeff (Oliver Hudson) will hire a reporter to document all of her activities. The reporter eventually discovers some of Juliette's deepest, darkest secrets and exposes them to the public. Juliette's personal and professional life is affected with the reporter's revelations, which also puts a setback in her singing career. Because of that, Juliette's binge drinking will be combined with pills. Could this make the country singer hit rock bottom?

Meanwhile, Juliette's former rival Rayna will experience a problem of her own professionally after her new talent started showing diva attitude.

In the music-centric episode, the newest talent from Rayna's Highway 65 record label Marcus (Riley Keen) will start making demands upon realizing that he will help the struggling record label. Will she let him abuse his status as a former international rock star?

"Nashville" season 4 episode 4 airs on Wednesday, Oct. 14, on ABC.
