Lienzo, the developer and publisher of the upcoming action-adventure game "Mulaka," announced that game is set to release on Feb. 27 for personal computer (PC) via Steam and PlayStation 4, followed by Nintendo Switch and Xbox One on March 1.

Lienzo announced the news in a YouTube video on Feb. 13.

According to the Steam page of the upcoming game, "Mulaka" is based on the myths and legends surrounding the Tarahumara tribe of Sierra Tarahumara (Copper Canyon) in Northern Mexico. Players will take on the role of Mulaka, a Sukurúame (a Tarahumara shaman) who will set out on his journey to convince the gods that humanity must be kept alive after they thought of exterminating the human race. Mulaka will be fighting evil spirits and monsters from legends including Risíwari (stones that consume souls), Ganoko (giants of the Sierra) and Sipabuara (fire-throwers). He will be able to accomplish his task of purging the land from evil by drawing upon the power and communicating with animal demigods, by using peyote (a magical, invisible plant which grants powers to anyone who consume it and by utilizing the diverse herbs and weapons that must be blessed to be used in defeating the foul creatures.

Lienzo emphasized that they have been working with descendants of Tarahumara tribe to make the game as authentic as possible. According to La Izquierda Diario, the game will feature the indigenous language of the tribe as well as sounds and music made from Tarahumara instruments.

The price for "Mulaka" is not yet listed. However, Lienzo said on the Steam page of the upcoming game that they will be donating up to 10% of the game earnings to nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) focusing efforts on the Sierra Tarahumara region.
