Moto 360 2 release news: New Motorola smartwatch spotted near company's headquarters?

The second generation Moto 360 has reportedly been spotted being worn by commuters near Motorola's Chicago headquarters.

According to 9 to 5 Google, a Google Plus user named Gerrit Gödecke managed to spot the smartwatch out in public and he was also able to take some photos. The photograph reportedly shows a smartwatch featuring a circular casing made of metal and it also has a single button placed at the 2 o'clock position.

The photographs (not pictured here) also supposedly show that Moto 360 2 still has what has been dubbed as the "Flat Tire" section. For those who may not be familiar with the "Flat Tire," it is the black segment of the Moto 360 that houses the sensors of the actual device. The "Flat Tire" has been deemed by some as an unsightly addition to the Moto 360, since it can affect the aesthetic appeal of the device itself.

If the photographs do turn out to be real, then they would match the descriptions of the Moto 360 that were leaked earlier on, according to The Verge. The aforementioned leaks pretty much match up with what is being described in the photos; so there may now be tangible proof of what the second generation Moto 360 looks like.

One noticeable difference between the new Moto 360 and its predecessor is the presence of the larger bits that connect it to the strap in the photographs, although it's unclear if there are any new features as well since those were not observed in the pictures.

As of now, Motorola has yet to confirm the Moto 360 2, meaning at the very least that the watch itself could still be changed between now and the date of its announcement. There is no word yet on when Motorola is planning to officially announce the watch, so people will just have to stay tuned for any new updates or news from the company.
