"Monster Hunter: World" is arguably one of the most anticipated titles in the franchise. For the past few weeks, PC gamers have been waiting for a release date for the PC version of the game. Fortunately, that news just came out recently.

The release date update for the PC version of "Monster Hunter: World" was given by the developers themselves through an official tweet. "#MHWorld is currently being optimized for PC, and is planned for an Autumn 2018 release," reads the tweet. Along with the announcement is also a short video update from the game's producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto.

"We're working hard on it right now," says Tsujimoto in the video. "We'll update you with more details later and thank you for patience." He also thanked everyone for joining in the beta tests last December, where the development team was able to gain feedback to further improve the game.

The two beta tests held last month was only available for PlayStation 4 (PS4) users. The first one was exclusive to PS Plus subscribers, while the second beta test was open to all PS4 players. With the release date coming in a few weeks for both PS4 and Xbox One, there may no longer be a beta for the Xbox One. The PC may have their own since the release is still in a few months, but no news has mentioned anything about it yet.

In the video update, Tsujimoto also reveals some plans following the release of the game. According to him, they will be "releasing free updates including new monsters so you've got lots to look forward to!" He mentions that these updates will be for the console versions. Presumably, they will also be made available for PC when it comes out.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of "Monster Hunter: World" will be out by Jan. 26, 2018.
