Minnesota Timberwolves NBA 2015 trade rumor: Ricky Rubio still being planned to be traded

The Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to have a better year in the upcoming 2015–16 season because of all their roster moves and it seems like the team is not done yet as point guard Ricky Rubio is reportedly on the trade market.

In his promotional visit to the Philippines last month, Rubio sounded optimistic about the Timberwolves and their chances of reaching the playoffs.

The Spaniard point guard also said that teammate and 2014 no. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins will be a future Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the league.

But it looks like Rubio's stay in Minnesota will be cut short because the team is reportedly looking to trade him.

Bleacher Report's Ric Bucher discussed Rubio's situation in a video and said, "I'm hearing that the Minnesota Timberwolves are actually looking at potentially moving off of Rubio at this point. They've seen enough, and they do not believe that he is the future, in spite of the fact that he's only 24.

Bucher added that the Timberwolves are yet to find a trading partner for Rubio but they will wait until the start of the regular season and see what they can get for the playmaker.

Rubio has been linked to a number of trade moves in the past but none of those happened and he is still with the Timberwolves.

Perhaps Rubio's health issues is the main factor as to why his name is always being dragged to trade rumors.

Last season, Rubio was limited to a career-low 22 regular season games because of an ankle injury.

His lone full season was in the 2013–14 season when he played in 82 games; before that, he only played in 41 games in 2011–12 and 57 games in 2012–13.

Rubio has a wealthy playing experience despite his young age, but the injuries that have plagued him are overshadowing his game and are preventing him from fully reaching his potential.
