"The Mentalist" fans who've been waiting for an official release date for season 7 will have to wait a bit longer. So far, it is not included in CBS' fall line-up, according to TVLine. But there's no need to fret, "The Mentalist" season 7 is already underway. Production has started and a new face joins the cast.

Bruno Heller, creator of the series, planned for "The Mentalist" to be shown back-to-back with "The Good Wife." But with the looks of things, the show will get a new schedule.

However, there is news that season 7 will be the final season of the show. While this speculation is not confirmed yet, Heller is the one who put the thought in people's heads. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he sees the seventh season as "like an encore." He added, "The purpose of an encore is to get people leaving the theater happy."

Meanwhile, Josie Loren from "Make It or Break It" joins the cast of "The Mentalist" season 7. She plays an FBI Academy fresh graduate. There's a chance that Loren may become a series regular if her character does well.

What does Loren know about her character, Michelle Vega? Not much. She told TVLine that she has "never heard of Jane, knows nothing of his methods or past, and casts a skeptical eye on his unorthodox, rule-busting ways."

Also, fans are waiting to see Teresa Lisbon and Patrick Jane get married in season 7. It shows that the couple is moving forward and will live a new life together.

"The Mentalist" season 7 will, most probably, air mid-season. It could be around December 2014 or January 2015. Surely, there will be plenty more spoilers to come.
