A new trailer for the upcoming season of "Longmire" has been released by Netflix, setting up that events will closely follow the finale of season 4. In the new series run of the rural crime-drama, it is said that the budding attraction between Walt and Vic will be taken to the next level.

At the end of season 4, deputy Victoria Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) revealed her budding attraction to Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor), and TV Insider predicts that the next season will focus on the new romance between the two, seeing as they will have to work with each other during the course of the season.

However, season 5 may also prove to be a turning point for the rural Wyoming sheriff, since Walt still has come to terms with the fact that he is being hunted by an unknown party. The season 4 finale had fans saw both Walt Longmire and his girlfriend Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan (Ally Walker) being shot by an armed assailant. In the new trailer released for Netflix, it hints that the premiere will immediately pick up where the last season left off, as it shows a flashback of the shooting, with Walt trying to figure out what happened since, "I can't remember anything."

"Longmire" is a crime thriller set in the rural plains, based on the Walt Longmire mystery novels by author Craig Johnson. The series has had a successful run on the A&E Network, though the studio has cancelled the show after three seasons. When season 4 was up for renewal, "Longmire" was then picked up by Netlix. Aside from Taylor and Sackhoff, the show also stars Lou Diamond Phillips, A. Martinez; Cassidy Freeman, and Adam Bartley. It is also confirmed that season 5 will guest star Dylan Walsh.

The new season will premiere on Sept. 23 on Netflix.
