Lakers trade rumors 2014: Jeremy Lin, Steve Nash to be traded? Who are the other options for LA Lakers and Kobe Bryant?

The upcoming season is looking bright for Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers. Everyone knows that the Lakers will be a big spender this season, and they've already started looking for trade options and players they want to take on board. Some of the top names are Rajon Rondo, LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol, Greg Monroe, and Ricky Rubio.

There's also Steve Nash and Jeremy Lin, who will become free agents soon. The LA Lakers might look to trade them if there are teams who want them. Either way, the Lakers has money to spend and they're making sure they spend it right.

Last season was pretty awful for the LA Lakers. Bryant suffered from injuries all season long. Now, they got Byron Scott to beef up the franchise and everyone's feeling hopeful. Not to mention, Bryant is healthy and is expected to be injury-free this coming season.

Actually, according to Sports World Report, the LA Lakers wanted Kevin Love on the team when he decided to opt out of his team. However, he decided to play in Cleveland with LeBron James. So now that Love is no longer an option, the Lakers are sticking to Gasol, Monroe, Rondo, Aldridge, and some other names.

The truth is, the Lakers had been very careful with their spending for a while. They know that the money will come in this season, so they didn't sign players for long-term, which is now obviously working to their advantage. Now, they have tons of player options, to trade and to acquire.

While the LA Lakers may start from the bottom again, there's no doubt that with their upcoming lineup, they can definitely compete in the Western Conference. If they don't trade Nash, Bryant and Nash will be both healthy in the new season. On top of that, there's Lin, Boozer, Nick Young, Jordan Hill, Wesley Johnson, Ryan Kelly and Xavier Henry to help the team in the offseason.
