Jeremy Lin congratulates 16-year-old viral Harvard passer

Ayrton Little's reaction to discovering he got accepted into Harvard University is making people smile across the internet, NBA player Jeremy Lin included.

The Brooklyn Nets pointguard took to Twitter on Wednesday to congratulate the 16-year-old on the life-changing news.

"This is legit!!," the basketball star wrote. "Congrats Ayrton...awesome story of someone chasing their dreams, pursuing education and turning a blindeye to the haters! #GoCrimson"

Ayrton's video of checking the results online recently went viral. Surrounded by his classmates and family, the Opelousas, Louisiana teenager screamed and jumped for joy when he found out he had been admitted into the Ivy League university. Just like him, the whole room burst with happiness, chanting "three-peat." It turns out this is the third consecutive year a student from Little's school made it to Harvard.

In an interview with HuffPost, Little said it has always been his dream to study at Harvard. After reading his acceptance letter, he thought that his "life had been changed forever."

However, he is not the only one celebrating something. Little told the publication that his brother passed Standford University, too.

"It still haven't been calm since my brother's acceptance Friday, but my brother and I realized that we have done the impossible," he said. "Many of my classmates are also getting their decisions this week. I honestly don't know when the excitement will die down at this point."

Little plans to take up math and computer science. His goal is to work on Wall Street and open a non-profit to help children from his community get to the position that he is currently in.

Harvard has since responded to the viral footage, congratulating Little and welcoming him to the university. As of this writing, his video has been retweeted over 100,000 times and liked over 310,000 times.
